Once you understand the basic principle behind SmartFlow, you’ll find that building a campaign is significantly easier than before. In this article, we’ll show you how to expand, edit, and adapt SmartFlow to your own scenario.

What SmartFlow Is Made Of

Every SmartFlow Contains:

  • activities (nodes, i.e. the individual steps of the campaign),

  • branches (decisions, conditions, responses),

  • connections between steps.

The flow is always read logically from top to bottom and left to right, which makes it easy to navigate.

Adding Your Own Branch

At any point in a SmartFlow, you can:

  1. select an existing step,

  2. add a new branch,

  3. define a condition or an action.

As you do this, SmartFlow:

  • guides you on what can be added at a given point,

  • won’t let you create an invalid combination of steps,

  • and helps keep the campaign’s logic correct.

Editing Existing Steps

Every step in a SmartFlow can be:

  • edited,

  • replaced with another,

  • or removed entirely.

Changes take effect immediately across the entire campaign structure, so you can always see their impact.

Note!!!: For a condition, always define the YES branch first, and only then the NO branch.

Expanding a Campaign Without the Chaos

Thanks to the visual layout:

  • campaigns won’t “fall apart” even with a larger number of branches,

  • no hidden dependencies arise,

  • and it is easy to return to a campaign even after a long time.

This is a fundamental difference from the old interface, where the logic was often “scattered” across multiple screens.

Practical Tips

  • Always start from the main scenario and add branches gradually.

  • Name your steps clearly — it helps with both management and debugging.

  • Regularly “run your eyes” over the whole SmartFlow — you’ll see more than you would in tables.

What’s Next

Once your SmartFlow is built, you can:

  • connect it to a specific campaign,

  • work with templates,

  • and control the starting and stopping of campaigns.
